| Abstract: | Decision theory includes theories of preference, utility and value, subjective probability and ambiguity, decision under risk or uncertainty, Bayesian decision analysis, probabilistic choice, social choice, and elections. Historical episodes and trends of the past half-century are overviewed briefly, including the books by von Neumann and Oskar Morgenstern, Kenneth Arrow, and L.J. Savage. Speculations for the next 100 years are outlined on some of the theoretical items of the past. |
