| Abstract: | This paper focuses on historical developments in three different domains: the business domain, the application software domain and the Information and communication tecnology (ITC) platform domain. It is shown that these domains have experienced parallel development, which can be explained by mutual influence and alignment. The concepts of business architecture, application software architecture and ITC platform architecture are introduced and defined, in order to be able to analyse alignment patterns. |
