Abstract: | Several theories about managerial functions have been reviewed. The argument begins with a critical review of conventional wisdom that managers make decisions. Each theory is part of an integrated set of ideas about organization, decision, management, employee, task and environment. A new framework, the Strategic Balance Matrix is presented, which typifies management tasks. |
