| Abstract: | The authors study financial implications of differential voting right/multiple ordinary share class capitalizations, using data from British dual-class firms. Positive wealth effects are observed after announcing to issue restricted voting (RV) shares and RV share enfranchisement. Although the fraction of superior voting (SV) shares is three times as large, RV shareholding is also important. |
