Abstract:For educated and high-skilled (here as: h-s.) workers, starting a firm with expansive potential is an option. It is shown in a matching model that reducing the start-up costs for new firms results in higher take-up rates of education. It also gives rise to higher rates of job creation for h-s. labour as well as average match productivity. Empirical evidence is provided to support the paper's argument.
