Abstract: | To answer the question why does one person succeed in starting a business while someone other gives up, a sample of 517 nascent entrepreneurs was followed over a 3-year period. An amount of 195 efforts were found successful while 115 start-up efforts were abandoned. This research focuses on estimating the relative importance of a variety of approaches and variables in explaining pre start-up success. ...
