Abstract:This article examines the impacts of new firm formation on employment growth in manufacturing industries in Spain. Considering the time lags as explanatory variables of employment change, the authors investigate the duration of the employment effect. The findings indicate that in the short and long term the employment impact is positive whereas in the medium term the employment impact is negative. Sharing the results of similar studies for other countries, also this study confirms the existence of indirect supply-side effects.
