Abstract:The purpose of this article is to reconcile the concept of entrepreneurship and the entrepreneurial theory of the firm. In the paper it is observed that the entrepreneurial theory of the firm defines entrepreneurship as a crucial element that explains the nature and boundaries of firms. However, understanding the nature and boundaries of firms is not one of the central objectives of the theory of the entrepreneurial firm itself: it doesn't aim to understand firms in general but a specific type of firm instead. The article first examines central antecedent research on the topic and then proceeds to seek answers to its original research question.
