Abstract: | Singapore, the small city-state, has been forging ahead with the urgent task of developing an external wing to its economy. The government has been seeking to strengthen economic links with other countries in the Asia-Pacific region through trade and investment, and has encouraged local Singapore companies to venture into the region. The six Singapore banking groups have been following their customers overseas, opening branches and operations in the Asia-Pacific region over teh past few years, reports Alison Warner. |
