Abstract:Dillon Read's decision to get into bed with Swiss Bank Corporation last month set the cat amongst the pigeons in New York's investment banking community. Only a few hours before announcing an agreement to sell out to the Swiss for around $600 million, the securities house had parted company with the Dutch ING Group. ING, which inherited a stake in Dillon Read when it rescued Barings of London, had hoped to build on that relationship.
