Abstract:The financial community has become so accustomed to being bearish about Japanese banks that two very salient facts which emerged from the banks' recently announced results for the year to 31 March have been largely overlooked. The first is that some leading banks are now only months away from writing off their bad debts completely and the second is that certain Japanese bank stocks are now looking cheap.
