| Abstract: | As the financial services industry around the world experiences consolidation, savings banks stand out for their commitment to local economies. In the millenium year the 19th World Congress of the Savings Banks will be held in Berlin. Its general theme will be:"Think globally, act locally, and cooperate internationally". The World Savings Banks Institute (WSBI) plans to establish a link with the EXPO 2000 World Exhibition, with the theme "People, nature, and technology" taking place in Hannover at the same time. |
