Abstract:Despite a continuing run of excellent results, boosted sometimes by strong performances in international capital markets, US banks have fallen out of favour with investors. Bank stock prices dropped like a stone last year amid growing concern over the increasingly over- ambitious targets set during mergers and several misjudged acquisitions. Such worriers have combined with increasing concern over rising domestic interest rates to make stock market investors think again.
