| Abstract: | The development orientation of Northwest economic region is to establish a energy and raw materials production has matched with the processing industries like non-ferrous metal-smelting, petrochemical industry, salt-chemical industry as the key pints as well as machine-building industry. On the basis of strengthening provincial economic ties, this base takes Euro-Asia land bridge as the link and turns to advantage its resources. The key points of economic development during the Ninth five-year Plan period are energy and raw materials industry, mainly the coal, crude oil, power, non-ferrous metal, petrochemical industry and salt-chemical industry. Besides it will strengthen the construction of railway and highway trunk lines and communication hubs, develop actively the tertiary industry, farm, husbandry and forestry. |
