Abstract: | The global demand for liquefied petroleum gas in 1996 increased 5% compared with that in 1995. Its increase margin was wider than that of primary energy (petroleum). The demand of some non-OECD countries practicing newly market economic system grow rapidly. Korea's for instance increase 20% every year. Now China ranks fourth in the world in terms of demand for it. In respect of price, Saudi Arabia dominates the markets in the Far East. The growth in China's demand for gas has also contributed to the changes in price. The too high contract price of Saudi Arabia leads to its decreasing share in Chinese market. Replacing the Philippines, Korea has become the country with the greatest export of liquefied gas to China in Asia and the Pacific region. |
