Abstract:Building communities of practice seems like a smart way to encourage collaboration across organizational lines. The paper answers what happens when you need to show proof that the communities are working and are worth the investment. The framework presented in this article should help. The author explains how to make sense of a chain of community activities, outcomes and value in the language of the business.
