Abstract:Plummeting pensions and dismal stock options mean there's not much inside the corporate sweetie jar at present. Today companies and managers face big challenges, not the least of which is how to keep employees motivated, enthusiastic and eager to succeed when they are surrounded by fiscal despondency. The author states that job satisfaction, enjoyment and feeling part of a social group at work become some of the most effective benefits a manager can offer. The paper provides a list of ten Britain's most frequently offered benefits. The author concludes that firms may also offer some flexible benefits and tailored perks packages.
