Abstract:Developing and maintaining guanxi goes beyond gift-giving and favour exchanges. It requires building long-term mutual benefits, friendships and trust. Many Western companies are keen to enter China. Doing business in China, however, is complicated by the profound differences btw. Western and Chinese cultures. Success requires an understanding of China's unique business environment.
