Abstract:Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) is the strategy to enter foreign markets that is currently receiving prominent attention in a variety of contexts. Inseparably associated with it is one of the main actors in the present-day economic scenario: the Multinational Enterprise (MNE). The authors' essential aim is to carry out a study about the internationalisation process adopted by a selection of enterprises that count on few establishments abroad and which, therefore, can be considered as multinationals, in an incipient stage of development. This paper has therefore been structured into the following sections. First, a theoretical synthesis is made about the phenomenon of the MNE. Then an explanation is given for the methodology followed in the fieldwork.
