Abstract:The author of the article states that the face of the accountancy is changing. As everything else, UK market seems to following in the steps of the US market. America - and Australia have already seen large-scale consolidation of the accountancy sector, the full effect of which are still not known -though so far the picture hasn't been entirely rosy - and a handful of firms in Britain are keen to exploit the idea. The paper states that consolidators are taking the US accountancy sector by storm. But there are plenty of hurdles to clear and not everyone believes they'll be successful. The author also considers if there is an alternative route and states that it seems to be a case of wait and see.
