| Abstract: | Previous research on selection of source and medium has failed to consider the dynamic, temporal aspects of information acquisition. A model that integrates the decision making and communication literatures is developed. Various sources and media are suggested that are more appropriate at different points in the decision-making process. Propositions are derived from the model and future empirical research and implications are discussed. As answers to the related questions are found and applied to the practice of management, higher quality and more effective decisions should emerge in tomorrow's organizations. |
