Abstract: | A changing business climate has pushed North American Aircraft Division of Rockwell International Corp. to introduce Executive Information System /EIS/. Part 1 of this two-part series explores the system's early implementation. Rockwell's EIS implementation time line is shown, beginning with April 1989 and ending by January 1990. The major goals of EIS are explained. A sophisticated prototype system for EIS was founded called RediMaster. Addressing IS needs for security, capacity of growth, data integrity, connectivity and low maintenance are discussed. Software selection for EIS is also considered as a major task. |
