| Abstract: | In addition to measures for financial restructuring, an increase in demand for trail traffic services and further cost reductions are essential for the reform in Germany. Thus one can hope that the action programme that DB AG presented recently will be rapidly implemented. The success of the Japanese railways is , however, also largely a consequence of the favourable transport policy framework conditions for railway operation. |
