Abstract:China's entry to the WTO has the positive impacts on the internal production of agriculture and the peasants' income, i.e. to be helpful to the structuring of agriculture in the developed coastal areas where are short of land resources and to the increase of the export of competitive agricultural products. The negative impacts. First, the competition force of grin trade derives from rent. Since the land-holding per household in the Chinese countryside is only 0.4 hectare, the peasants cannot but suffer from loss when engaged in planting. Second, it is hard to stabilize the grain production for the state cannot subsidize it through planned prices or direct means. Third, it is difficult to help the agricultural laborers of two hundred millions work in non-agricultural sections so it is easy to cause severe contradictions of serious nature.
