Abstract: | Usage of weblogs as an information and communication technology (ICT) for knowledge sharing (KS) and creation (hereafter as: KS&C) is a novel social and organizational phenomenon. This study identifies and explains contingency factors influencing the successful use of weblogs for KS&C. It is assumed that successful knowledge management (KM) requires the motivation of people to engage in knowledge-related communication. Based on a comparison of two cases, identified and discussed are four contingency factors that directly influence the motivational impact of weblogs on organizational KS&C. |
