Abstract: | A method of technology transfer is described that has evolved out of the need to transfer promising technologies in the "engineered materials" field to full-scale production and application, when the inventing company is not in the materials production industry. The method that solves the technology transfer problem is to develop a strategic partner who is in the materials business and is motivated to be a licensed producer. Technology transfer through strategic partnerships has been a rapid, effective and successful tool for developing novel engineered materials for aerospace system applications. In the course of this evolution a few key lessons have emerged. |
