Abstract: | Recently, we entered a period when companies are investing in the new technologies of the 1980s and 1990s in a modernization strategy: collaboration will play an important role. The reasons are: sharing the cost of technological innovation, sharing the risk involved with new development, accessing additional knowledge, leveraging familiarity with the market, and developing industry standards. Collaboration can take on a variety of forms: structure-based innovation networks, application-based innovation networks, technology-based networks. The success of collaboration depends on a commonality of interests. |
