Abstract:Like many small nations, New Zealand is an open economy dependent on trade. This article analyses the principal impacts and interprets these from the perspective of a small non-EC nation. The first section draws on survey data to provide a current perspective on New Zealand business strategies with regard to the EC. This is followed by a section which offers a scenario of how New Zealand business is likely to be affected by 1992, and how current operating strategies will need to be reviewed and revised.
