Abstract: | Most people would be seeking the benefits of economic development and ecological sustainability. Thus a range of goals is defined in this article: (1) economic development and improved living standards; (2) an improved physical environment; (3) equity for current and future generations; (4) ecological sustainability. There is every indication that the role of a variety of stakeholders in the environmental debate will increase rather than decrease over time. |
