Abstract:This article reviews the emerging theory of dialogue and reports on early evidence of its impact in practical settings. The author's experience with the discipline of dialogue suggests that there is a new horizon opening up for the field of management and organizational learning. Several key elements stand out in this respect. First, dialogue is an advance on double-loop learning processes, and represents triple-loop learning. Second, this field suggests a new range of skills for managers that involve learning how to set up environments or "fields" in which learning can take place.
