| Abstract: | The average tariff level of textile products of China is higher by a big margin than that of many countries. The tariff structure of China's textile products basically reflects the tendency of tariff escalation and tallies with international characteristics of tariff structure. It has many drawbacks compared with the tariff structure of textile products of western countries. Great attention could be given to the rationalization of the tariff structure of textile products. Tariff escalation cannot be too sharp. It should reflect the competitiveness of the country's textile industry and the demand and supply on the market. Optimal tariff level should be set according to the textile economic development of the country. |
