Abstract: | The author strengthens the results in a paper by Bagwell and Ramey (International Journal of Industrial Organization, 1990, 8, 93-113) to show that under their assumptions no intuitive pooling equilibrium exists. It follows that a uniqueness result can be established under quite standard assumptions. In that paper Bagwell and Ramey analyse in a quite general model a situation where an incumbent firm has private information about the strenth of market demand which can either be high or low. |
