| Abstract: | UK's Broadcasting Bill is likely to attract foreign investment into UK TV industry. Bidding for, or takeover of UK broadcast franchises will be possible for any EC companies. However, national newspaper interests and satellite broadcasters can't own more than 20 % of franchise. Advertising agencies and PTTs are completely excluded. Channel 4 may become a non-profit independent company. |
