| Abstract: | Over the next few years, a major battle is expected between domestic carrier NTT and the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications (MPT). NTT aims to deflect divestiture pressures, while MPT may wish to break up the company. Besides the profitability of local service, bulk discounts, access charges, and responsibility for paying the costs of increased interconnection have been the subjects of clashes between the two parties. |
