Abstract:The UK government's Duopoly Policy Review is analysed. In fact, a better way of describing the UK situation is as a national oligopoly and the licensing of other niche competition shouldn't come as a surprise. While the government adopt a stance of encouraging further liberalization and competition into the UK telecommunications market and seek to maintain British leadership in this field, they may increase distortions in the marketplace and increase regulation.
