| Abstract: | EC intend to support the coordinated introduction of an Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) in all member states by 1993. ISDN was originally supposed to replace the old telephone network. At present its deployment is far behind schedule. Standardizing network characteristics means reconciling the interests of competing groups. |
