Abstract: | Manufacturing company Frederick Woolley found that a new equal opportunities policy was essential to get the support of women staff for its quality improvement programme and to harness the potential of a large proportion of its . workforce. Shopfloor supervisors were promoted from reliable male shopfloor workers. Managers had been trained to manage the three Ms: money, machines and men. The equal opportunities programme continues to play a key role in progress towards the company's aim of empowering all its workers to be part of its future success. |
