| Abstract: | The acquisition of companies is often associated with demonstration of power, subjugation and surrender. The case of the Marion Merrell Dow, a pharmaceutical corporation, that acquired Henning Berlin, a family enterprise, shows that this is not necessarily the case. The business fields of the two firms, the main financial and other data and the projects, through which they are to be integrated are described in the article. The goal of the management of Marion Merrell is to show to the employees of the other company that they are not simply forced into new jobs, the two firms can rather create something new together. |
