| Abstract: | The study of working time preferences has become increasingly important in the context of recent debates in Germany on working time reduction and more flexible working hours. Most commentators have stressed that working time reductions should be voluntary and flexible in nature. THis report presents the results of a study of working time preferences of both the employed and the non-employed: very often these wishes do not accord with the reality of working life. |
