| Abstract: | Many companies are struggling to respond to the ever increasing demands from customers while at the same time minimizing working capital requirements and operating costs. Customers want fast and reliable delivery while requiring more options, product customization and higher quality. Global competition is forcing many companies to become more efficient in their operations. A few leading edge companies are now implementing mixed model operations to balance these conflicting operational objectives of the 1990's. |
