| Abstract: | The existing market-price informational systems in Slovene agriculture, which come from different sources (e.g., Statistical Office of Slovenia - foreign trade and purchase statistics; Business Association for Food and Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry - collection of agricultural product prices), are evaluated through their applicability and comparability with some of the selected Western European statistical systems.It is realised that due to dynamic occurrences in agricultural markets (cattle, pig and cereals markets) und due to imperfect data collection and compilation, the informational market systems concerned do not entirely cover the market events.The lack of these systems is also reflected through virtually non-existent presentation of the results obtained.On these grounds, it is argued that there is a need for through statistical and market analyses before any of the new systems of data compilation should actually commence functioning. |
