Abstract: | Accountants seek protection against unfair lawsuits at the very time the public is asking them to assume more challenging responsibilities... and as these abusive securities fraud lawsuits continue to erode the U.S. financial reporting system, capital markets and U.S. companies' competitiveness. Despite the accounting profession's enormous liability burden, it lags behind other professions in adopting limited liability forms of organization. |
