Abstract:Traditional information systems start with end user requirements, while new approaches start with strategic business goals and existent infrastructure leading to an information system architecture. Fundamental to understanding existent infrastructures are repositories or encyclopedias. The features of architectural repositories are described, as are their integration with existent database and CASE tools. The role of object oriented systems is also discussed.
