Abstract:Japan is the largest trade partner of China. In 1993, for instance, the trade volume between the two countries reached $39.04 billion, accounting for 19.9% of the total foreign trade volume of that year. The investment of Japanese enterprises in China presents an upward trend. Japan ranks the fourth among the countries and regions which China attracts foreign direct investment from. The financial cooperation between the two countries has been going on smoothly and has made remarkable effect. The loans by Japanese government and the loans for energy by banks have played an important role to China's economic development. But the yen's rise has added to China's debt burden. So both sides should settle it through consultation in order to avoid the passive impact.
