| Abstract: | European M&A is booming, and it's affecting those who advise on it almost as much as those they advise. Long-standing relationships between companies and their investment banks are breaking down, and advisory mandates are increasingly going to the banks that come up with the best ideas - not just the ones that issue the most invitations to the opera. The planned $20.4 billion merger between Lloyds Bank and TSB will create the UK's largest retail bank in terms of branches and customers. It is also likely to be the largest European merger in any sector this year by value. |
