Abstract:The reasons for reaching an agreement on intellectual property rights between China and America are as follows: 1. The Chinese-American long-term economic and trade interests formal the most important basis for the final agreement between both sides; 2.China has extended great privilege to do the work related to the protection of intellectual property rights and made achievements; 3.Since the negotiation didn't cover all the contents of intellectual property rights and the involved amount was not quite large, it was not worth making a fierce trade war; 4. It is obvious that the loss would have out weigh the gain if America had with drawn from China, a huge market just for the sake of pirated audio-visual products and computer software.
