| Abstract: | A study was conducted to assess the level of performance of plateaued managers. Resutls revealed that more plateaued managers had deficient autonomy needs and a greater degree of deficiency than their non-plateaued counterparts, although they had similar levels of pay satisfaction. Furthermore, those plateaued managers who reported stable or improved levels of performance had greater levels of perceived autonomy , suggesting that organizations who grant more autonomy to plateaued managers will receive improved performance. |
