Abstract:The theory that the true effectiveness of JIT occurs when Japanese culture is blended with JIT manufacturing systems is discussed in this article. Many empirical research findings tie the success of the manufacturing system with the effectiveness of JIT. However, the JIT manufacturing system in Japan is based on the tradition and culture of the Japanese, called "rentai" and "wa". When the rentai and wa culture is spread over the entire organization, the implementation of JIT can be successful.
