Abstract: | Without question, 360-degree appraisals are taking hold in American business. Companies using this form of appraisal include AT&T, Mass Mutual Insurance, Bank of America, Digital, Tenneco, Amoco , Exxon, General Electric, TRW, Caterpillar, GTE, Syntex, and Chrysler. The concept of 360 appraisal is straightforward enough. In these systems , individuals evaluate themselves and receive feedback from other employees and organizational members. The feedback comes from an individual's immediate supervisor and peers, and, if the individual is a manager, from his or her direct contributors (subordinates). |
