| Abstract: | Coordination of domestic and foreign currency policies is becoming an important means by which to control China's money supply. The state policies on reserve serve as the juncture of policies on domestic and foreign currency. During the Ninth Five-Year Plan period, domestic currency policies should be readjusted structurally instead of expanding quantitatively. Foreign currency policies are to focus on stabilization of rates of exchange and creation a better business environment for foreign trade and foreign investment. The role of money supply as monitoring quota should be strengthened so as to replace the scale of loans as the goal of media of monetary policies. Plans of reserve of money should be mapped out and a monetary policy commission established. |
